Hi, mommy!

The baby waved at me today!

I've been having a bit of a tough week. In the last 5 or so days, I lost every single symptom I had. Seriously, I couldn't feel less pregnant. No nausea. Food aversions - gone. Cramping - gone. Excessive peeing - gone. Excessive tiredness - somewhat gone. Bloating - gone. I'm eating fine, and, I've somehow lost 7 pounds.

Now, before anyone rolls their eyes and guffaws (yes, I said guffaws) because they are suffering through terrible symptoms, imagine how nervous it would make you if they all suddenly went away. There should be some happy middle ground - enough symptoms that we know something good is happening in there, but, not enough to feel really lousy.

Anyway, I was very nervous going into my first OB appointment today. But, they took me right into the ultrasound room, and there was the beautiful heart beating. And then, suddenly, the baby began squirming around and waving! I couldn't stop giggling! Even the doctor was giggling! I know that each appointment will bring something new and wonderful, and today didn't disappoint at all!

The doctor said everything looks wonderful and that I've passed a big milestone as, in his words, most miscarriages occur before 10 weeks. They are , for various reasons, considering me high risk (which is what I wanted!), so, I'll get a higher level of care and more ultrasounds!

So, I see him again in a week and the high risk team in two weeks for my first trimester screening. I think this is all finally starting to feel real!

Congratulations on the combination of LIVE baby and lack of symptoms. That's the best way to have no symptoms :). Seeing the baby move around is amazing, so glad you had that joy today.

I hope you have a few middle of the road symptoms to keep you feeling calm.

Waving is an awesome sight!

I can see how you'd worry about the disappearance of symptoms, but many women do feel much better around this time. I haven't had any totally symptom-free days, but there was a vast improvement around 10-11 weeks. I've even slept through the night without peeing a couple of times instead of waking up at least twice as I did early on. I know I'll have all sorts of fun new symptoms soon, so I'm trying to enjoy the relative non-crappiness while it lasts.

Congrats on being high-risk (hopefully in name only)!

Wow - that is so awesome! Seeing the baby move, I can't wait for that!! And I know what you mean about the lack of symptoms, it's so disconcerting. If we hadn't gone through what we've gone through, it would be great, but I think we've gotten jaded!

And I'm jealous about the high risk! I'm going to beg my doc for that, too!!

I just want you to know with both my pregnancy especially my first I had NO symptoms at al, you would have NOT known I was pregnant without my belly getting huge. This pregnancy i had some symptoms, but not much. It worried about it, i was told I was one of the lucky ones, and after knowing I could have had morning sickness day and night I will take no symptoms, hang in there.

WOOHOOO! A waving baby! How awesome! I'm glad they decided to make you a high risk patient, but I hope that doesn't mean anything bad. Just lots of extra attention and LOTS of ultrasounds!

How awesome that the baby waved at his/her mommy. Does a moment like that erase the pain of the 4 previous years.

So glad your doctors are giving you so much attention.

Oh, Lisa. I'm so happy for you and checking your blog frequently so that I can see what's happening. I'm on pins and needles! Hasn't it been 9 months yet??
Waiting for the booty call (that is, the call telling me what color the baby booties should be).
And congrats on the new house. Great timing.
