No "thinking" this time!

As a follow-up to my last post, yes, that afternoon I told my nurse that I didn't want to see that doctor anymore. I'm a very easy patient, but, you know what, I want better answers and don't want to waste my precious ultrasounds with someone who isn't going to be comprehensive.

Now, onto today's ultrasound. I am delighted to be able to announce that, as soon as the doctor found the sac, there it was, the most beautiful little flutter I've ever seen!!! And then she switched to audio. I've never heard anything as glorious as that sound!! Seriously, never.

No thinking. No maybes. No I'm not sure's. Everything was conclusive and obvious!

126.5 bpm (beats per minute). Nice and strong! No mistaking that with my heartbeat!

After almost 4 years, opinions at 4 different clinics, cycling at 2 clinics, 8 IVF attempts, 3 IUI's, an ectopic pregnancy, a miscarriage, and the ultimate decision to use donor eggs, it is almost hard to believe that there is a real, live baby growing inside of me.

Almost, lol!!!! That heartbeat made me a believer!!

Lisa,

I am so happy for you and your DH. Finally, you're going to become parents after your journey of too many years. I get teary just thinking about what it was like to finally hear your baby's heartbeat for the first time. Were they able to record it?

Now I hope you'll post on the "other board."

Congratulations! Hearing that h/b is such a defining moment. I am happy for you.

Also, big kudos for shaking that lame doc with the "thinking" problem! That takes guts, and I'm sure you will be more comfortable with someone else.

I remember the first heartbeat like it was yesterday, and now she's a rambunctious 3 year old that fills me with joy every day. Congratulations. may the rest of your pregnancy journey be peaceful and BORING.

AMAZING! No pressure, but right now you are my beacon of hope.

Stay strong and, if you're up to it, let yourself believe a little.

This is Kathleen (Charlotte's mom), Lisa. I search for your blog every now and again, and I can't tell you how happy I am to see this news. This is absolutely wonderful, what a miracle.

I wish you all of the luck, Lisa. You and your husband have fought so hard for this, and you truly really deserve to hear the pitter patter of little feet. I am thinking very good strong thoughts for you, you are an incredible woman.

Your old online friend,

Kathleen

New follower here... I am soooo excited for you!!! What a journey you've been on, it is so hopeful to see your good signs so far.

We seem to be within a week or two of each other, so I'll be follwing along to see what I might be able to expect!! (and by your decription, I think it's possible we might be going to the same clinic...).

I know there are lots of milestones ahead, but really, really happy for where you are right now!
